Faces have been known to give mixed messages, even those that are designed to be intentionally misleading. Faces, like books, can be read. So be sure to read the face/book before deciding its worth. Or at least read enough to know whether you want to curl up in bed with it on a cold winter's night. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and a bit of white marker. It's what kept Original Jones Art occupied for some little time here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Very colorful and expressive and impressive

Artist Reply: Thank you, Ray, for such a nice comment. Yes and he's pretty happy about it too. But I did add a sad button to his shirt to balance things. Take care and keep drawing. I call it 'drawing out the poison' but I would. :)

I love the result of using the white marker! Most interesting!

Artist Reply: The paper I used is toned, Ginger, so to achieve highlights, I had to add some white. i tried to use it sparingly but, hopefully, effectively. Thanks and take care. :)

GREAT WORK CHARLES...REALLY GOOD TO SEE A HAPPY FACE...GOOD COLOR MIX...I LIKE THIS GUY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Artist Reply: If you put your hand over the right side of the face, he looks a little bummed, Elton. It's only when you look at the whole face that you get the 'mixed message.' But he's not really trying to hide anything. Thanks! Hope all is well in Big D. :)
