It is said that a house divided cannot stand. Of course, not building it on quicksand helps. But today I think we have a lot of divided selves, people who do not truly know themselves and just absorb and mimic their way through life. It's the old 'monkey see, monkey do' conundrum. They say true intelligent life begins with realization of self but does the average individual today have a true sense of what 'self' means? This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with color pencil and another example of Original Jones Art as it becomes self aware in northwest Austin, Texas.

"Hear no evil, See no evil and speak no evil!" It's sad that thousands of Americans believe everything they hear or see, whether founded on truth, or not,...then mimic the treasonous, seditious and hateful antics of the, 'patriots,'...people who want to rid our country of all people who aren't caucasian! A word which many of these treasonous people can't even spell! They need to look at where they came from, and rethink their "personal rationalized imagined plight!" This art piece, Charles, is symbolic imagery, depicting another type of virus in America,...division within ourselves and in our society!

Artist Reply: It's interesting to think that a lot of us are, to use the term loosely. 'blends.' Humanity has been around too long for any of us to claim to be wholly this or that. It's a ridiculous outmoded idea. But what we CAN do is educate ourselves sufficiently to tell truth from fiction. The ignorant are easily led---so become less so. The better we understand ourselves the clearer we see our fellow humans. I now step down from the pulpit and/or soapbox and shake the hand of my artistic friend---Mark Kokopelli Watkins. :)
