There was an 80's group called Madness and as I recall they had an album called One Step Beyond. I liked the group though they were short-lived. Well, now I'm living the Madness and it has definitely gone one step beyond anything I've ever lived through. And, of course, I'm being optimistic there. This is a 6 by 4.5 inch gel pen drawing with color pencil. It's the end of another day in bedlam, or, as Original Jones Art likes to call it, northwest Austin, Texas.

Ya have to be optomistic, things will get better!

Artist Reply: I've been reviewing the transition, Ginger. It seems my youthful (read unbridled) optimism was ultimately tempered by an infusion of run-of-the-mill pragmatism. This and a large dossier of empirical data gathered over decades have compressed it, like Superman squeezing coal into diamond, into a small rather lifeless object I pull out occasionally but haven't the heart to throw away. Thanks for commenting! :)

Artist Reply: Yes, Marie. They call him 'Laugh-A-Minute Larry' back home in the land of La-La. Hope you are doing great. Thanks for commenting. :)
