Circles of Life

This is my very stylized, colorful and embellished version of a woman of the Mursi tribe from Ethiopia in Africa, known for the plates they wear that stretches their bottom lip. She is holding her baby in her arms, and woven into her kente cloth garment is this artist’s signature.

Artist Reply: Thank you--tongue-in-cheek whimsy is definitely my thing!

There is a lot to recommend this piece, Jayne. The composition, the colors, the design elements in hair, earrings and lip plate. all work great together. Impressive. :)

Artist Reply: Thank you so much, Charles. I do try to get all those elements right, so it's great to hear that I did.
