Peacock Art Australian Birds Susan Willemse

Peacock was painted after photographing this delightful bird having a sand bath. I wanted to capture this bird before they were removed from the ACT as a proposal for their removal was being displayed in local newspapers at the time. I can gladly report that over 300 local people supported keeping them alive. This artwork has been published internationally, has received international awards and has flown to the Barcelona biennial via Italy to be hung in the MEAM (European Modern Art Museum of Barcelona) in 2019. Special Thanks go to Francesco and Salvatore Russo for these opportunities. You can see more detail of this artwork at my online Gallery.
