Pakistani traditions on Hellenistic sculptures part 1: The Discobolus

The Discobolus of Myron is a Greek sculpture completed towards the end of the Severe Period, figuring a youthful ancient Greek athlete throwing discus, and in this image, a dafli. The blue background is imprinted with the Peacock motif, which is a symbol of immorality because it is believed in mythology that the peacock’s flesh does not decay after fatality

Wonderful interpretation of a Greek statue from the Classical period (around 400 BCE) in a "mashup" together with South Asian symbolic patterns! Looks like a latter-day Yavana-style artwork from the Gandhara-culture - well done! Also: I like the touch with the guy holding a tambourine (?) instead of a discus.
