Joanie, I can't say I have ever seen anything like this either. Makes for a very interesting photo and is very unique. I have seen certain creatures of the caterpillar type carry egg sacs on their backs, and I was just wanting to know if that is what the two shining oval areas was.
Artist Reply: THANKS FOR COMMENTING LADONNA. IT'S THE MOST POISONS CATTAPILLER. WHAT LOOKS SOFT ARE POISON BARBS ALONG WITH THE POISON SACKS. NEVER TOUCH. IT'S SMALL AND MAY NOT BE NOTICED EASILY. IT'S CALLED THE PUSSY CATTAPILLER AND THE ASP CATTAPILLER.
I've read about these
Caterpillars, turns into an Ugly hairy Moth, very dangerous much worse then a Bee venom, have had people go to Emergency & stay in the Hospital for Anti venom,Wow,Amazing Joanie, you found ,they are mostly eating off Oak & Elm Trees, this is the first time I've seen one,but then again I've only seen one live rattlesnake in the wild & only recently, this is got to be a real find for you
Artist Reply: THANKS AL. YES, RIGHT AFTER I SAW IT AND LOOKED IT UP ,HAD A REPORT ON TV ABOUT A WOMAN WHO ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHED ONE AND HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL. ALL IN LESS THAN A WEEK.
