Little Boat of Hope

Throughout the early years of my wandering as an artist, when I did a lot of work in pencil and ink, a little rowboat like this often featured. It was never the main object. Always just a subtle presence. It also used to feature in my dreams all the time, but in recent years it disappeared. I always saw the little boat as a medium, a vessel built for the purpose of transporting something from solid ground to solid ground. In my life the little boat oftentimes signaled a big change, decision, a bit of wisdom or insight that came to me over the waters.
