Stetson Mansion, DeLand, Florida

I lived very, very close to this mansion when I was a small childl. I had never been inside it until the beginning of this year. When I was a little girl my friends and I would ride our bicycles passed it all the time. We were always in awe of the omnipotent presence that loomed over us! Its shadows cast an eerie spell over our incredibly active imaginations! We were extremely inquisitive of this enormous and unique home, yet... a little weary also! Having the unbelievable imagination that I did back then, I thought a witch lived there! However, I can assure you there are no witches living there, just two incredibly talented and creative guys that had the courage and determination to transform their dreams into reality! They both inspire me so much to do the same with my dreams! JT and Michael took a diamond in the rough and magically transformed it into a glittering, magnificent, unique and beautiful home; a sparkling gem for all of us to enjoy today! I am extremely impressed with the creativity, the imagination and the vision it took to turn such a beautiful, old historic home into something spectacular and magical! Be sure to visit the Stetson Mansion if you are ever in the Central Florida area! You will certainly be impressed the way I was back in January! JT goes all out! He decorates the whole mansion himself! It is absolutely beautiful and is worth visiting during that time of year! The mansion is not very far from you and would be a great day trip four you and a friend a friend to take! If you ever decide to tour the mansion, please give me a call and we can go together. I would love to see it again! Maybe, JT could give us the tour himself! Happy Easter!

At first I thought that was your home. Ha Ha. Nice shot.

Artist Reply: I can only wish it was my home, David! The mansion is close to my childhood home if that counts for anything! Thank you for commenting on this beautiful mansion!

Thank you, JT, for taking time away from your busy schedule to comment on this photograph! I truly appreciate it! You and Michael have done wonders with the mansion and you should both be very, very proud of yourselves! You have taken a diamond in the rough and transformed it into a shimmery, glistening diamond for all of us to enjoy! DeLand is so very fortunate to have this mansion in its town and I just know that John B. Stetson is beaming down at both of you! You have taken his pride and joy; his home and created a magnificent showcase for all of us to enjoy and marvel over! Thank you for sharing your mansion with all of us! You and Michael are so very lucky to live in such a gorgeous and magical place! I love your Zen garden also! Everyone should have a Zen Garden!

I am lucky enough to call the Stetson Mansion my home but even luckier to be able to share it with visitors from around the world. I love this photo because it really captures the magic and grandeur of the home. When I look at this picture I wonder what the room with the balcony is like or what kind of parties or celebrations go on there. You get to see a lot of the mansion but not all of it and I like that mystery of what lies beyond the grand Magnolia trees. I only wish that I would have had all the shades up so that the reflection of the antique glass would have shown better, but otherwise two thumbs up!
