Chief Joseph Tattoo

Another portrait tattoo...this one is of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe. Many of you may have seen the movie "I Will Fight No More Forever" about his story. He was a brave and brilliant warrior who would have much rather lived in peace with the white man. He is buried 25 miles from where I live in Nespelem, Washington, on the Colville Indian Reservation. I wasn't going to post tattoo pics on here but a few of you have expressed to me that you had an interest in seeing them...so here ya go. I will post a few of my favorites. Of course I specialize in portraits.

Nice rendering of a great chief. I am very familiar with the sad history of the Nez Perce, as I used to breed Appaloosa horses and now live in the tribe's "Land of Winding Waters". His father is buried at the west end of Wallowa Lake about 7 miles from my home. I am planning to do a pencil study of that very same black and white photo of Joseph.

I don't know much about the skills involved in doing a tattoo, but I assume it's pretty hard. Good portrait.
