The Three Graces

This is an interpretation of the three graces of antiquity - Aglia,Euphrosyne and Thalia daughters of Zeus and companions of the goddess of love Aphrodite.Through the ages they have been associated with many different virtues ranging from chastity to fertility. In this instance they represent from left to right Beauty, Modesty and Wisdom.Traditionally depicted in naked dance holding each other by the shoulder, here they are shown in a more sombre fashion, each merging into the other their identities shifting but united against the onslaught of the modern age.
