Running Free

Smoky Mountains ,TN *A little side note about this photo. I had arrived in the Smoky Mountains around 4pm. I had pulled over to take this photo as a landscape of the Fall colors. At the time all that was in front of me was this open field with fall colors. As I was setting up to take the image , this head pops up from the brown thickets which are behind and off to the right of the horse. This head belonged to this horse. He pops his head up looks straight at me and bolts out of the thickets ,almost like saying PEOPLE... and he came running around and straight for my position. So I took this photo. He ran straight up to the fence and stood there almost like a dog waiting for his favorite bone. It was obvious he had associated people with a free handout. Lucky for him, I did indeed have a apple with me which I gave to him. He was a very friendly horse and for the moment we were the best of friends.. This is one of those being at the right place at the right time and being ready shots....

You've captured the speed and eagerness to get near you in the horse run. Great shot.
