Moldavia. Protecting the Old Orhei, XVI Century.

2012, canvas/oil, 71x95cm. Video: http://youtu.be/mfdTI6t_LS8 History of the Old Orhei preserves the memory of the destructive love, which according to legend, took place in the XVI century. The city was surrounded by the Turks, but the Moldovan soldiers defended the fort so valiantly, that the Turks had lost all hope of winning. Legend has it that a young man betrayed the city, because he loved the girl (Merioara), but the girl was the bride of Moldovan soldiers. On the night of betrayal, the sky turned black. Residents managed to escape in Codrii, and the Turks razed the city. ------------------------- Moldavia, Old Orhei. - http://turobzory.com/personalnye- obzory-turistov/obzory_ekskursiy/62- staryy-orhey-ili-staryy-orgeev.html
