Cowgirl Chevy Luv

Since moving to the land of hills and vales in the Heart of Texas we’ve seen one phenomenon after another. One that provides unbridled amusement is the endless parade of Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge pickup trucks – there are other pickups as well such as Toyota and Nissan and others but let’s face it, the American Iron Big Three has ‘em all beat! (for the moment ~:0) Oddly, the truck’s mark is not what I’m about herein. What I’m talking about is a couple of terms in common usage – - – Cowboy Up & Cowgirl Up ~:0) That term – Cowgirl Up – is the inspiration for the VivaChas! photo in this post. Cowgirl Chevy Luv is yet another episode in a long- rambling series of shots addressing expectations in the ranching community – which is a unique micro-cosm in the center of the state. I suppose the term – Cowboy Up predates the feminine gender usage. It’s very similar to another term – to Man Up. Guess that means to step up, swallow your fears and do what has to get done. Not to be outdone, ranching women have risen to the task and been known to Cowgirl Up. Though I must admit – as in Cowgirl Chevy Luv – it is often accompanied with a wink or wry smile. Understanding all the nuances of hill country life seems very likely to be a task to occupy the remainder of my days here on this blue ball – and that’s a good thing (to quote an heroic American icon ~:0) Here’s what I recommend – get yourself a print of this pix on metallic paper (why do I always seem to suggest the metallic paper or if U R at a site that offers printing on aluminum? b/c it looks insane!!! That’s why! – I’m always thinking of U guys ~:0) Anyway, back to the thought at hand up there on metallic prints – get ur print and start making a study of Cowgirl Up and maybe next time I’ll address the concept with a Ford or Dodge truck – might even squeeze in one of them foreign crap I’ve heard so much about in these parts since my arrival in the Yellow Truck – Ha! ~:0) VivaChas!
