This is my first of three
pieces I donated to the
Buffalo Bill Historic Center.
It was auctioned off
on the 25th of September, 2004 in
Cody, Wyoming.
This piece is somewhat
larger than I do most of my
"Western Artwork." The
overall size is 18" x 12."
Framed size will be roughly
30" x 24". What you are
looking at here is four
separate scans which were
merged into one in "Good
Old PhotoShop." God I love
PhotoShop! I defy anyone to
see where I spliced the four
scans together.
I have been working on this
piece since the August 1st. I
have well over 43 hours to
completion.
I tried something different
here on this piece also.
Leigh being a
photographer, I had her
mount the camera on a
tripod above my left
shoulder. She would "shoot"
me and the drawing about
every 30 minutes or so. She
is in the process of loading
them into a program which
a DVD will be made so the
entire process will be
played on a laptop at the
auction. What I have seen,
the 160+ photos have a
definite "flow" that works
pretty well. I will post
several of the "stills" later
from the process so you
can get an idea what it will
look like.
The original is 18" x 12"
overall. It is drawn on
medium weight, hot press
Crescent Illustration Board.
German made
Faber-Castell Drawing
Pencils were used. The
majority of the "pencil" was
done with a #6 lead, while
the remainder was
darkened with a #8 lead.
Total time to complete was
almost 43 hours.
