This glass sculpture is stunning and spectacular. Love the colors and the design. It must have been a lot of hard work for someone to complete this fine work. You've captured it so very well, Amy.

Artist Reply: This is the information regarding the sculpture. thank you very much for your compliments. I am going to try to post more photos of this and other architectural art from Mohegan Sun (place is gorgeous). Mohegan Sun commissioned a towering glass sculpture by world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly. Titled “River Blue,” the 10,000-pound masterpiece was created by combining extraordinary artistry with architectural skill. Thousands of richly colored glass components, 2,500 in all, were hand-blown by a team of artisans in Seattle, then fully assembled on-site at Mohegan Sun. The distinctive cobalt blue, silver and clear colored glass sculpture, measuring fourteen feet in width, soars twenty-five feet above visitors, creating a spectacular centerpiece.

Artist Reply: Thank you so much. I really love this glass sculpture that I came across at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The official name of this sculpture is "River Blue"....: Mohegan Sun commissioned a towering glass sculpture by world renowned artist Dale Chihuly. Artist Reply: So the glass is only cobalt blue, silver, and clear- the major variety of colors that appears in this is actually lights that are put into the base and reflects through the fibers up into the 2,500 pieces of glass to add additional colors. This technique causes one of the most stunning parts of the object, the fact that at any given moment you can see the colors change through-out the sculpture.
