photo of a humpback well that had a very distinctive scar shaped like a sideways K- this particular whale surfaced 4 or 5 times right off the side of the boat- no more than 30 foot away. The 'zoom' picture is of him right after surfacing- showing nearly his entire length all at once (have theory that he is a younger whale- several of them that day seemed to be a bit smaller than I remember humpbacks being- but also broke the water higher showing more of their bodies than most).
