The Paris Judgement

This painting shows the power of beauty. Paris needed to make a choice to offer a golden apple to one of three goddesses; Hera (power), Athena (success in war) or Aphrodite (which wanted to offer him Helena the most beautiful woman on earth). He chose Aphrodite, (for beauty). To express this aspect, the artist depicts Eros quite prominently. He does this by representing Eros several times.
