Yarigatake - The Matterhorn of the Japan Alps

This image of what it likely Japan's second most famous peak among climbers and mountain photographers - Yarigatake - was captured on an August morning in 2007 with a Tachihara 4x5 Technical Field camera on Velvia 50 sheet film. The view is from the 3,101metre-high summit of Obamidake in the Kita (North) Alps of Japan. It appears in my book, "The Japan Alps" available at Blurb.com.
