Another wonderful piece...do you paint from photos?
Artist Reply: Hi Cindy, This painting is based on memory sketches of a hoilday cottage we rented up in Scotland. However for the progression of paintings I collect reference material such as snow on logs, trees and deer.
I do take photographs but it is very important to produce a sketch from it, to create the feeling and atmosphere you first got, which is what made you take the photo in the first place. Thanks for your interest Cindy. Regards Joe

Artist Reply: This painting was based on an area where we used to go on holiday in the Trossachs, Scotland. You can see the cottage in the background which was a beautiful place to be. Kind Regards Joe
