This painting of Julia's Rose, a 4" semi double, 17-25 petalled bloom, was inspired by one of the most beautiful coffee colored and frangrant tea roses in the world! The treasure of this earthly, hidden garden sanctuary leads us to discover yet another one of God’s garden ‘glories’. Yes, Julia is dependent on caregivers to develop, nurture and protect her life, but her delicate beauty radiates God’s glory to all who behold her. So too, we find that our strength rests solely in our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. Indeed, as we reflect Christ-like character, He is glorified. Although we are weak and frail, it is as we continue to rest quietly, trusting in Him alone that we discover Jesus is our life, strength and beauty! Scripture verse: “...In quietness and trust is your strength... (Isaiah 30:15) Watercolor on 140 Lb. Hot Press Arches' Paper. 15" x 15" #136-April 2007. www.hislambsonline.org

What a lovely, spiritual, and romantic piece this is, Jan. It reminds me of the tea parties my three daughters and I would have several times a week when they were younger. Always, the table was decorated with frangile antique tea cups and serving platters along with heavenly roses of soft pinks and lavender.lillianhibiscus 11 Jul 2010
