oil on canvas board 9"x12". this began as a sunset with a different setting. i didn't like the way it was going so i put it aside and went on to other projects. months later i wanted to get my hands into paint and took it out again- still didn't like it. so i painted it over with this imaginary scene.it went so easily and effortlessly, like it painted itself. it took about 20 minutes to do this oil sketch.

This has a friendly, unpretentious look to it. The stone wall forms an oblique which forces the view to take the road. You might try and loosen up your palatte. Trees don't have to be green and grass doesn't have to be yellow.Alberto D'Assumpção 20 Oct 2004

very soft style. some of the white on the rocks seems a bit overbright for such a seemingly overcast sky however. the composition itself is excellent.Jose Pedro 22 Jun 2004
