Is not the mountain far more awe-inspiring and more clearly visible to one passing through the valley than to those who inhabit the mountain?

This brings back memories of Colorado from my youth. The Rockies are just such great, young mountains - so tall, so sharply defined and jagged in peaks. They are so different from the Appalachians with which I had more familiarity. You capture it nicely and with good colour. No strong blue casts in the snow. Has a Kodachrome feel rather than Ektachrome. Very nice.

What a great quotation! It looks as if you could ski your way down hill and right to the mountain!
