gillette castle

Gillette castle over looking the Connecticut River. Built by William Gillette playwright and actor from the late 19th and eary 20th centuries. Best known for playing Sherlock Holmes. His portrayal of Holmes is now the image recognized across the globe.

You sound like a great fan of his acting, Tom. This is an awesomely 'moving' photo, however you achieved it. I love these old places! Like Jamie, I hadn't a clue about this place. A most 'paint-able' subject!
