Late landfall at Whitby

Watercolour 31 x 23 cm. An imaginary scenebut based on sketches and a deep sea fishing excursion, painted 1989 after a trip to Whitby in NE England, the port from which Captain James Cook set off to discover Australia & NZ. Quite a bit of body colour as I was not very adept at w/c then-or now!

Very atmospheric - it really tells a story. The sea and waves are very well handled, body colour or not!
