"Joan of Steampunk" is the first of my Steampunk-themed paintings. I like this painting because it has a lot of mood, complex emotion in the eyes, and it was my first shot at inventing my own steampunk gear. As I was painting it I thought about classical religious art and WWII propaganda, and while it hints at darkness, there is also hope.
