The Last Leaf

Before I got into welding (what I really do!) I worked for years with slate, the more colorful, the better. I have discovered this is why I like to paint on metal. It lays down and mixes much in the same way that slate achieves its color.

This is awesome art, Jerry! There is a beautiful depth on this painting. Slate is nice, it feels good. I bet it's great to paint on. Do you have large pieces of it?

Artist Reply: Thank you, Anneke! My slate is mostly 12 inches square, I have a few larger and lots smaller. It is mostly naturally colored stone but I might find a plain one to paint!
