growing up in upstate N.Y. we lived on a farm and had loads of these nesting under the eves of the barn,very nice painting of them,I am sad to hear about their decline.

Artist Reply: Thanks Ruth We used to have 20 25 pair nest at the lodge ten years ago. Last couple of years only one or two pair show up and they didn't stay. Don't know what their demise is - they are insect eaters and the mosquitoes have not diminished any. Sad, yes.

Artist Reply: I too grew up with swallows, Many a scolding I got and was dive bombed regular. And they kept the mosquito population down.
