Master of the Lake

©Seth F.Weaver, Sr. 02/07/07. Acrylic on stretched canvas. I painted this for my youngest daughter who was redoing her bedroom and wanted some of my art to decorate it with (she already had 2 cat paintings of mine). She wanted the hero (guy in the boat) to be Hugh Jackman, she’s a big fan of him. The rest of the work is inspired by Arthurian legend of the Lady in the Lake, Excalibur, and Avalon. She told me recently that I can paint over this work. She wants a scene from “Singin’ in the Rain.” She’s so demanding!

So intricate and Intelligent, and intense, cunningly sophisticated. A freeing yet settling work that overcomes the complex truth that the blessings of good and peace are everywhere. Finely crafted. Filled with a well balance of characters, suave and passionate, without any strict procedure but in terms of great skill. It leaves us eagerly awaiting the next effort.

Artist Reply: John I'm throughly blown away by the depth and insight of your comment. Thank you so very much. As Mark Twain said "I can run a whole month on a good compliment." This compliment should carry me to June.
