We are inside a passenger car on a railroad during the golden age of train travel. We see two women and a girl sitting on either side of a little girl. On her left is her mother and on her right is a railroad hostess. They are trying to point out to the child all of the wonderful things she will see when they reach their destination as well as the things she can do while riding on the train. The child is having none of it and would rather be anywhere but where she is.

Nostalgic, and well done !

Artist Reply: Thank you very much. I appreciate your feed back. I have been painting a lot this summer but have not posted anything for a while. That should change in about a week. Again, thank you.

Taut.- Nourished.- reveals the efforts on achievements and superation, overcomes the need to give testimony of the hours of sacrifice and the number of the density of the love for the Art.

Cecil, you have a wonderful knack for rendering such plausible scenes. I feel like I'm sitting opposite this threesome, wishing I could retain this image in my brain. You've done all the work for me! It is now an unforgettable picture. You're also a skilled and observant time-traveler. You're right: things don't really change that much over time. Very nicely done.

This is definiatly a good painting. But I'm missing a bit darker colors in the face and hair. Now it looks a bit liveless. Howver I can see there is used contrast (black) in the background. The details and the proportions are verry good. The composition is also attractive.

Artist Reply: Thank you for your remarks. I tend to be a little heavy handed when it comes to shadows. On this painting I was trying not to go too dark. May haps I went a little much in the opposite direction. I will revisit the original and see how it compares to the photo I posted.

most interesting art work ,end concept!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you for your positive comments. I really do appreciate them. You have selected 2 of my favorites "As Then Now" and "Princess". I often wonder what it would have been like to live in that time. I have another painting set in the same time period near completion. I should be able to post it later this week. Again, Thank you.
