Tiny

One of a litter of 13 gorgeous Dogue de Bordeaux puppies that I was asked to do a portrait of. The owner kindly allowed me to use the photos to paint some for myself and what a great subject! This is the second portrait I have done - check out my painting called Bliss.... This one was done in a single coloured pencil to give a soft drawing effect. Copyright Anne Barron 2006.

Well done It makes me wish I had known of this technique. Such a fine piece if art.

Artist Reply: I see from your portfolio that you like to draw and use colour so I'm sure you've used coloured pencils before but using just a single brown (raw umber in this case) pencil, just give you a lovely sepia sort of image, particularly if you are doing portraits of people (have a look at the ones in my portrait gallery to see what I mean). I'm sure you'll enjoy it but the only thing is it's not as forgiving as graphite pencil as you can't rub out as easily.
