Guitar Hero in Pyrography

This portrait of BB King was burnt / pyrographed onto solid spruce wood, which in this case is a soundboard from an acoustic guitar. I pyrographed BB using a pyrography pen, which works on a similar principle to a soldering iron, using the heat to burn the surface of the wood. Mark Knopfler was also done in the same way. Artist Reply: Hi Lucia Stewart, Thank you for your lovely comment. Your work is also very creative and beautiful, which as you mention you get your inspiration from the part of the country that you live in. Cornwall is a lovely part of the UK. The south coast is really very nice. I was actually born in Plymouth which is not far from where you live. I have always had a facsination for art and craft type things. Pyrography to me is although not to colourful it has a certain appeal, as does pencil artwork. I hope one day that someone of influence will buy a piece of what I have done which in turn will hopefully create a niche for me to turn my interest into a full time career for me. Have a great day.
