Team Work

Beautiful Draft team on a cold winter's day. They were logging on the day the photo was taken from which I did the painting.

Hi Suzanne, I love your work, it is beautiful...as a horse artist I especially love the draft horse painting...! I love your state too, and am considering moving there someday? Take care, Susan Miller in IN.

Artist Reply: Hi Susan, thanks for the nice comments. I love horses too. I really love painting ALL animals. Tennessee is a lovely state, you would love it here! I am originally from NY. I can't wait to see your work. Thanks again.

I love it, Suzanne. Keep striving and improving your already formidable skills and talent. May God grant you patience and contentment as you are guided on your journey. Have faith in God.

Artist Reply: Jerrie, thank you for ALL your wonderful comments and encouragement. It means a lot coming from another artist that I respect so much. Your artistic philosophy and spiritualism are gentle and enlightening. I like you! Also, thank you for your wonderful insight with thte Federal Duck Stamp. I was not disheartened by not winning, it was my first attempt. I will definitely enter again! I know I have several more eggs to break before I have made an omlet! Thanks again!

Great work and nice to see them so accurately portrayed , WOW lots of harness work. Must have knowledge to get them correct. I give you as much praise for that as well as the skilled handeling of the medium. Impressive.

Artist Reply: Ha! Thanks Deborah. Yes, the harness work can be a bit of a challenge, but Yes, I do have some knowledge on the subject as I grew up riding horses. Thank you so much for your positive comments. sue

Terrific paintings..........the horses are beauitfully portrayed........I love the details in the falling snow and the breath condensing from their nostrils...theres just enough in the background to add depth and interest without detracting from the main theme :o))

Artist Reply: Hi Jacki, thanks for the great comment on my horse team. Yes, I love horses and all forms of animals. I was trying to capture a mood when I was doing this one. The actual photos I worked from to do this painting only had a team of two, but I wanted three horses in this team. It was not snowing on that day, but it was cold and the horses had frozen breath hanging on thier whiskers. I chose not to include that, but did do the frosty breath. Thanks again for the positive comments and I will try and check out your work soon once I get the hang of this site. thanks, Sue
