IF the former you would not necessarily adjust , if the latter than Creative freedom away.. This is a common discussion with nature photographers. Do you show exactly the way the scene was/is or do you adjust or clone away? There is a strong division on this and each must make his /her own decision as to what side of the fence they want to be on. Nice shot either way...

Nice image. I like the rough, warm backdrop to the statue. Nice soft colors and tones. I'd clone out the brown lines on the statue.
