Doorway to the Mind

This is before there was a photoshop. This is a multiple exposure in the camera, taken in 1979. I have always like this shot. It is basically a shot of a friends face and a old doorway of a garge in Newport Beach with ivy growing on it. The doorway was in despair condition, but there was just something about it that I liked and with my friends beard it just seem the two just might create something, SO I made a go of it and this is the results. Multiple exposures were not always sure things and sometimes you don't get a second chance with them. Hope you enjoy it.

Gary, I just discovered your wonderful gallery and look forward to seeing more of your stunning work. This is an extraordinary photograph;the symbolic content is fascination. I love photographs of doors given the mystery of what lies behind possibly in an otherworldy realm. Your piece is surreal and the special effect of your friend's face, a result of multiple exposure is brilliant and inspired. The warm colors and lighting are also very impressive. I live in Los Angeles so it is nice to know that there are wonderful artists like you very close to home. I have not used photoshop, but like this photo I use my mind's eye as my lens. Hope you stop by since I am always interested in professional photographers feedback given this is a new venture for me. It looks like you have a fascinating portfolio and I have something very enriching to look forward to.
