A Wonderful Bird is the Pelican

"A wonderful bird is the pelican, His bill can hold more than his belican. He can take in his beak Food enough for a week; But I'm dammned if I see how the helican." (Dixon Lanier Merritt, American journalist, poet and humorist). The photos were taken on March 12, 2008, at the Garden for Zoological research, Tel-Aviv University.

Odd looking Birds Lili, there was one in the news last year. It ate a pigeon in a park in London. It was captured on video. Didn't know they ate other birds. Unless of course it was seriously hungry. But all the tourists were feeding the birds at the time!!. Superb images though even if they do eat smaller birds. Best wishes Lili. XX
