What can I say about this piece. I think it speaks for itself. Anyone who knows Dizzy Gillespie, knows about his incredible musical abilities, not to mention his famous "balloon" cheeks. I love this piece because Dizzy seems to show off two contradicting emotions. On one hand, his face shows the liveliness that he's playing. On the other hand, his eyes are slightly closed, showing off a relaxed demeanor. On the move, yet so at peace. I feel happy that I could recreate this beautifully frozen moment in time.
