Near Fenway

Last September I spent a few days in Boston with my daughter who attends BU. One day while she was in classes I walked to the Museum of Fine Arts. On my way back to her apartment I found a path along the edge of a park. The lighting was perfect! It would have been wonderful to be able to set up an easel and paint right there but since that wasn't possible I had to rely on second best and paint the scene from my photograph. I entered this painting in the "Trees" contest here at AW and was pleased with the ranking I received. Many thanks to all who voted for this painting and thanks to you for looking! 16 x 20 , oil on canvas

Beautiful painting Heather, I find greens to be the hardest colour to work with (mine tend to get too muddy) but your greens seem so fresh. Stunning.

Artist Reply: Thanks again ~ I agree about the difficulty using greens. They're very challenging. Sometimes they cooperate and sometimes they don't!
