Immature Brown Pelican

©Delores J. Knowles 2008 -- This is another one I just had to place in the setting in which my imagination could see him. This little immature Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) was having the time of his life that day singing to anyone who would listen. These are the smallest of the eight species of pelicans and are such a delight to watch. Photographed on the west coast of Florida in Citrus County.

I suppose most (or all) birds sing, Delores, but somehow I never thought that Pelicans sung. A delightful shot.

That just really made me smile. Would be a cute wall decoration for a child`s room.
