The prodigal sons

(c)2008 Armando Salas -----Sorry 'cause these photos are simply horrible. Yesterday was a very difficult day. Most of time at hospital although, luckily, nothing to be worried :-) But yesterday was a splendid day also because of a wonderful surprise. I got a package from my agent, containing over 500 daily strips I drew in 1975-1976 (busy years!) It made my day because I almost haven't ancient original drawings. ------Upper image: close up (?) of the dailies. Bottom image: 500 ancient daily strips all over my living room.--- The prodigal sons came back home! :-)

A museum indeed. Hope you're feeling better Armado. We ended up in the hospital for an emergency diskectomy of my husband's vertebrae last Sunday night. He's recovering VERY slowly and is in much pain..... At least he's home again but in bed.

AWESOME my friend!!! Just proves what a genius you are. An inspiration to all us struggling cartoonists who find it hard to come up with even an idea a day:o((

What a great present to receive. You must be very, very pleased. I hope the hospital thing was nothing serious.

Anneke Hut 07 Feb 2008

Armando, I can imagine that this was a wonderful present to receive! Almost two strips a day, what a productivity, amazing!

Artist Reply: Yes, Anneke. I'm so fast. Although the job changes, I usually draw/drew -at least- two strips and one comic page (4-5 frames average) per day. The time I drew these strips, I also drew/paint 200 illustrations per month (fairy tales for children). All of this happened while I had a job in a bank where I worked eight hours per day :-) Productivity? Slavery!!! :-)))
