4 x 6 inches, watercolor with gouache, 2008. Painted for the Daily Watercolour Blog Wednesday Watercolor Challenge. The theme this week is Hearts. My contribution is a 4 x 6 inch painting of Jesus and His Sacred Heart. The image of the Sacred Heart represents Jesus' love for humanity - the thorns symbolise his death, the flames his love.

really, really beautiful Mark! I'm not too comfortable with this particular image due to His having no shirt on but not to take away from your awesome skill my friend. He is so beautiful and I too love the strong image of Jesus as He most certainly is powerful and commanding! Peace to you alwaysJoanna Jungjohann 01 Feb 2008

YOUR PORTRAIT OF JESUS AS THE SACRED HEART IS SO INSPIRING-GIVES ME CHILLS. I LOVE TO SEE HOW YOU INTERPRETED HIM AS STRONG AND MASCULINE, MUCH DIFFERENT FROM THE SOFTER GENTLER INTERPRETATIONS. MY PIC OF THE DAY!paul megens 01 Feb 2008
