I took this shot back in the summer,I don't know what sort of butterfly it is (I'm sure somebody out there could tell me)but I really liked the vibrance of the colours,as usual I used my canon 10d with a sigma 75-300@ f5.6, hope you like it.come on people hit me with the feedback.

gorgeous photo and I agree with Jessica that the markings remind one of a buckeye...surely there are lots in UK we don't have here in the states, though :)

I have a similar one which I can't find the name either and I have a book on north american butterflies...my guess would be a type of buckeye of Ladies...(but this is much brighter) hmmmm???Not sure...but awesome capture
