A large watercolor 30X22' on Arches 300lb. The scene is Indian Gap in the Blue Ridge Mountains; walking distance from my home. The trail that is covered in snow in the painting follows a spring fed creek that has endless small waterfalls to the summit. It's a favorite walk and even in this crowded age, its rare to encounter another soul walking there. Because of this I could allow my aging Doberman, Max off his lead to explore on ahead on his own. He took special delight to do so in the snow and when he last enjoyed this freedom there was snow on the trail. Max not long after died under the weight of his years. His footprints in this painting going on ahead on the trail are a portait of him although he remains unseen.
