Urban Graffiti

I usually photograph tree graffiti. In Los Angeles, we have an art gallery of urban graffiti often presented in murals on walls drawn by kids and people of all ages. When I saw this mural on a building downtown, I reworked it by changing the colors, enhancing imagery to create characters like a red devil on the far right, and spashing colorful confetti on the walls to give the piece more life and imaginative possibilities. You can interpret the orange as a sun or anything that comes to your imagination. The more you see and play with my imagery, the more successful are my artistic efforts to elicit freedom of thought and expression.

Excellent image. Love this graffiti shot. Really great work and love the gradient luminosity. Love it. Michael

Artist Reply: Thanks Miracle Man. I am experimenting with new things and if they don't work, I can just trash them. I now can enter a new world since a friend bought be a macro lens. Some fascinating imagery has emerged. Charlie woke me up to tell me another frond fell in front of our house. I never imagined that Palm trees could produce such amazing images like the shadow people and the Isle of Gont. I still need to show coming attractions for the new season now that the real Santa Claus has been revealed. I knew that disloyal Santa who was monkeying around with the beauty in the bathing suit was an imposter. Also Flo (remember the one with junk in the trunk) has welcomed more of her family from the North Pole where the people are 50-85 feet. She was the only one to get a part in the cult movie, the attack of the fifty foot women. Her uncles arrived that are two ghouls, another witch that is her cousin and of course the real Santa Claus that also lived at the North Pole among the Giants. The redneck brother and sister Turleen have not gone home yet and Jerwayne her brother came to town pursuing his old sweetheart Honey who left the Pink Flamingo Trailer Park to become a lounge singer in Las Vegas and hopefully find a more sophisticated man so she can realize her fantasy of having an Elvis wedding. She can't break the news to Jerwayne that she has outgrown him and his sisters Peggy Sue, Turleen and Flo. I took a picture of the cast of characters and the cliffhanger that happened when I was not in Snowville. This quaint quiet town has really been shaken. What is next?

This reminds me of oriental artwork. Very beautiful. The orange also reminds me of a ferris wheel. Great work Julie.

Artist Reply: Thanks again Cindy for your wonderful comments. I like you imaginative response of perceiving the ferris wheel. I also associated to an oriental aesthetic.
