Oil Stains and Red Nandina

The painting is a large watercolor (22 x 30) on irregular and heavy handmade paper. It is currently on view at Studio Eleven in Lexington. The scene is the hub of Lexington, Virgini(such as it might be); Main Street just down from the old courthouse. Here on the raised wall by the Robert E. Lee Hotel, another daily court is held. Its halls are between the oil stained street and the firey red nandina. The docket is unpublished and what might be decided goes unremarked and unattended by those that pass in silent self-containment.
