Ponies

Some ponies peeped at me from a neighbor's field as I stopped to watch them grazing on golden fileds. This is a little thank you for them putting up with me. The lighting was perfect for the oil pastel look I wanted to try out. This is a digitally painted work that I used a Wacom tablet & stylus pen (ecletronic art tablet) not a photo manipulation or software auto change to art work. I Had to draw it, paint it, starting from a blank canvas on my computer screen. I used Corel's Painter X software for the art software, which is my favorite for doing digital painting. It allows me to use multiple mediums that I can not normally mix together with real mediums. I'm not allergic to any of it, no drying time, or clean up. Which means I get more time to do other works and things in my life.

I lost your site...i am SO glad I found it again! I am interested in knowing if I can get it around 50 x 38 or what ever size around that works best for this photo, for our office. I was wanting to put in wrapped canvas style on our wall, but I have always had a high quality photo they have made those from, so I don't even know if that is possible from a print etc. I will have to check on that. What would a print that size be? I have showed so many people this photo...it truly is amazing! It brings me such peace! You are so gifted! Thank you for responded, and I am sorry it has taken me so long to find you again!

Can you get your painting of your horses any bigger? For a wall hanging? it is absolutely beautiful!

Artist Reply: Yes I can make it large enough for a wall hanging. Thank you for your remarks about this work. I hope to do some more horses soon. I have been taking many stock photos so I have plenty of reference photos. Please e-mail me about prices and sizes that you are interested in. THis work is a favorite of mine.

how amazing... did you do this by yourself??? two thumbs up girl !!! :o)

Artist Reply: Thanks Blue Doll!!! I am having a blast going out and finding subjects to photogragh. Even bad shots can be turned into paintings. These ponies were covered in burrs, but I had the pose and lighting I wanted, so could do the painting I envisioned. More horses to come soon.

BEAUTIFUL HORSES!

Artist Reply: Thanks Emily! I wanted to work with the golden hues on this one, something I hadn't tried with horses before. All the California wild grasses tend to be golden most of the year, so it made a good study of the tones.

Beautiful painting, Terry! You have a wonderful talent.

Artist Reply: Thanks John! Time is the only thing that takes away form me working on my art these days. Sometimes I can't work if ill, or pain flairs up, but I manage to make use of the times I can work. I am learnig so much as a late bloomer with art and photography. Still, my kids deserved my full attention when growing up, and I'd not trade a moment. I am fast making up time with al the wonderful ideas that are popping into my mind each day to work on next. Deciding which is the hardest.

Your brilliant mind has come up with a perfect solution for what could have been a hinderence to most and made a sheer and miraculous talent from it. Great transformation and you talent is miraculous. Great work. Bless you and hope your family has a fabulous weekend full of love and light. Michael

Artist Reply: Thanks Miguel! LOL! I don't know about brillant, but determined. If it looks like t would work for a painting, that's when I take a photo for reference. These ponies were covered in burrs they had been walking through, but I don't have to paint them. The more I study dramtic lighting and tones, the more I am seeming to get the results I want. My photos that I am starting to post will show alot of that. My art reflects what I love and see the world as, I'm glad that it appeals so much to you. Bless you my friend, your works and writings are also blessings for me to enjoy.

magnificent beauties

Artist Reply: Thank you Joanna! I've such a love for graceful animakls such as horses. I have been collecting photos for reference shots this pst two years to study for more paintings. Some will be for unicorns and such. I like to really study the anatomy and varieties to figure out how to plan a composition. The photos I got on this day of visiting the ponies was one that was perfect for the lighting I wanted, and their fur was perfect for the colors I wanted. Any other time of the day it wouldn't work. I have my husband out sometimes with me when the lighting is at the most dramactic of the day to get the best reference. Otherwise, I couldn't dream the right results.
