Fuller's Teasel

I took the photos of this unusual looking plant at the Jardin des Plants in Paris, the main botanical garden in France. Fuller's teasel (Dipsacus Fullonum) is an introduced weed. Native Americans and Europeans used the bristly heads to card wool and raise the nap on woolen textiles. The photos were taken on October 13, 2007. I wish you all a wonderful weekend!
