Houses on the sand

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the houses, and it fell with a great crash. Matthew 7:27 We may seem secure when things are calm and bright, But when disappointment and illness come, we need security on which we can rest our soul. Jesus Christ is life's only security, build your life on Him. He will never fail. ----ZhouZhuang Village, China.... in Acrylic.

Hello Francis! How are you these days? I see you have been busy producing more beautiful paintings to delight us. This one has a wonderful atmosphere of things that are changing very slowly in the villages on the river. The people stroll by on the ancient bridge dressed in their western clothes while the solitary boatsman in his traditional boat poles quietly down the river. The paint is nicely handled and the brush strokes precise and unwasted. Brilliant reflections and shimmering colours!!!

Very nice job on the water, very real looking. I like the kind of astract way of painting this has but the clouds seem to contradict that...they are very stylilzed. I am not sure that is a good thing or bad thing...it just makes them stand out.

Artist Reply: Thank you Therese I think you are right, I will do something to the clouds. I will edit it with another pic.
