My son's galley of his book came in for our perusal this past week from Authorhouse. ISBN: 978-1-4343-2370-5(sc). Finally. We hope anyone interested will be looking forward to the final publication, which we hope will be by Christmas, 2007. Here is Stanley Ketchel, close-up during his third fight with Billy Papke. Papke had fouled against Ketchel, and won, in the previous bout (find out why he was not disqualified in the book), but Ketchel didn't complain. He graciously accepted defeat, but for the next bout, this one, Papke became Ketchel's.....(should I say it??) Nah! He became Ketchel's pulp.

Artist Reply: Yep, on occasion, I actually do other people, and other things! This one was challenging. The picture is very old, and off the internet. But, it had great shading, so I had to try it. Thanks, again, so much!!!

Cariss this is fantastic...my favorite of your works of him!!!! You really show his power here. Congratulations to your son he must be so excited!!!!

Artist Reply: Thank you so much, Laurie! Anytime you see Stanley, he's lying on the floor of the ring after Jack Johnson knocks him out. No one has ever tried to know the truth about that incident. Stanley was a good guy.
