This isn't quite as pretty as it looks...the poor unlucky bird in the middle of the flappers got attacked because she came over from a flock that was situated a little ways from this one. The poor thing got knocked under water...and they kept her there for almost two minutes as I watched in horror! Never seen anything like it. Geese don't normally attack their own kind up here. She didn't appear to be injured when she resurfaced but I didn't know a whole goose could go under water!! (they turn upside down to eat just like ducks mostly..but they do not submerge deliberately! So, this shot is just prior to what they actually did to her. Felt so bad for the poor thing..she seemed to be just curious! I can guess she's sticking pretty close to her own flock from now on!
